My love for FLEXSEEDS (Alsi)



It was during our younger days , we would see our grand mother  making delcious  Alsi (Flexseeds) Ki Pinni added with khoa , almonds , sugar and butter oil.  during winters . We were told , it's meant for the members of family who are  above 40 years of age and we the children at home were given in small quantity. How our diet is influenced by BLOOD TYPE

A proper and healthy diet is a much discussed topic nowadays. Changing lifestyles, busy life schedules and the partiality to junk food and fast food over home cooked meals, more often disrupt the entire Dosha balance in the body leading to diseases. Overeating, skipping meals, eating overcooked, stale or frozen food can adversely affect the body constitution. 


Ayurveda diet is based not just on the nutritional values but also on the Prakruthi of the person. When the body ingests food based on its Prakruthi, the Doshas remain balanced leading to a healthy body and a peaceful mind. 

Following a well-balanced Ayurveda diet can balance the various changes caused by age, physiology and environment. It can help you prevent the occurrence of diseases, increase your concentration power, improve your digestion and immune system and so on. 

Influence of  blood type on our diet
Type O blood: A high-protein diet heavy on lean meat, poultry, fish, and vegetables, and light on grains, beans, and dairy.Various supplements  also  help with tummy troubles and other issues .
Type A blood: A meat-free diet based on fruits and vegetables, beans and legumes, and whole grains -- ideally, organic and fresh, because  type A blood have a sensitive immune system.
Type B blood: Avoid corn, wheat, buckwheat, lentils, tomatoes, peanuts, and sesame seeds.  Chicken is also problematic,  eating green vegetables, eggs, certain meats, and low-fat dairy is encouraged.
Type AB blood: Foods to focus on include tofu, seafood, dairy, and green vegetables. People with type AB blood tend to have low stomach acid. Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and smoked or cured meats.

When BLACK GRAMS (Kala Chana or Garbanzo beans or chickpeas) acted a savior

It was during my late twenties , when suddenly a little white scar appeared on my chin. My habit of  taking daily a glass of orange juice resulted in spreading of white scars (vitiligo)  on  my face  .  It worried my parents and also  shattered my confidence . I visited a few doctors (skin specialists),  but of no avail. Then , one of my known  took me to Postgraduate Institute Medical Education and Research (popularly called PGI , renown medical institute at Chandigarh)  where his younger brother was a resident doctor and assured me of complete riddance from white scars on my face. After having breakfast at friend's  brother's  residence , I was taken to skin department ,  where I was diagnosed thoroughly and prescribed a very little dose of medicine for month. While returning from from PGI , an elderly person  was sitting beside me in the bus  asked me about my white scars on my face . He advised my about eating black grams and see its miraculous results. I took his advise very seriously and started eating  soaked and little fried black grams daily at breakfast. It would take me half an hour in finishing my breakfast . I started having miraculous change in my face and white scars disappeared in short span of six months and before my marriage. I kept eating black grams for two years and still I do but  not so  frequent. It added an extra ordinary strength in my body . Today , I owe change in my life to the timely help of friend and eating black grams . What a beautiful gift of the nature !!!!!
